Thomas is the co-owner and manager here at CrossFit Dahlonega with his beautiful bride Lindsey. He is a self-proclaimed nerd and couch potato turned into a fitness enthusiast. Although he played baseball since he was four years old, he first found himself to have a passion for fitness when he started playing High School Football at Cherokee High School in 2008. During that time Thomas also began to train for his upcoming enlistment into the Marine Corps which only further fueled his passion for fitness. Once graduating High School he joined the Marine Corps and began to realize how important it is to be physically active in order to live a life that is healthy and vibrant. After being medically discharged from the Marine Corps in 2012 due to combat injuries, Thomas came home to Georgia where he immediately began attending the University of North Georgia to pursue a degree in Physical Education. During his time at UNG Thomas also began pursuing a career in personal training as well as a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer Certification to be able to work more effectively and knowledgeably with fellow students, individuals at Gold City CrossFit, and fellow members from his church. After four years of pursuing his passion both through University as well as through outside certifications and pushing individuals to achieve more than they thought possible, Thomas graduated with a degree in Physical Education in 2016. To this day Thomas still pushes himself to learn and continue growing, seeking further certifications from ACE, CrossFit and other fitness organizations. In his spare time, when not coaching or training himself Thomas enjoys working outside, hanging out at home building all varieties of things with wood, reading, still nerding out playing video games, chilling with friends, eating all of the foods, competing in local CrossFit competitions, investing in his relationship with and loving on his amazing wife, and most importantly growing in his relationship with Jesus.

I started CrossFit in 2012 in an effort to return my body back to pre-baby status... or as close as I could possibly get. Even though my education is in the exercise science field, I had never really found the right combination of fitness activities that would keep me coming back for more. CrossFit changed that, and I have loved how challenging and new it is for the last 10 years. I have an amazing husband who totally supports my CrossFit addiction, and two girls who like to workout, especially when they can beat me!

My CrossFit journey started in 2013 when I was deployed to the middle east for the second time. In my limited “time off” I was looking for something to manage stress both physically and mentally. The small community there provided exactly that. During the journey I rediscovered my love for Olympic lifting as well. In the early 90’s I trained and competed in Oly lifting events, but life changes pulled me away from it. Fast forward to now, I have three daughters who I have introduced to CrossFit. My oldest found a gym in Milledgeville, GA and loves it so much she decided to attend the CFL1 trainer course. After some arm twisting, she convinced me to attend with her. We had a fantastic experience at the course. The trainers are excellent and really opened my eyes to all the mechanics and trivial things that make a significant difference in how we all move. I have learned now through experience how important it is to evolve with your physical self over time. That is the beauty of CrossFit, it’s for everyone and adaptable to anyone.

I began CrossFit in January of 2020 and as soon as I completed my first WOD, I was hooked. The community and the challenge that CrossFit provides me day in and day out is unmatched. I joined CrossFit Dahlonega my freshman year of college and loved it, but decided to take a year long break. After that break, I was determined to be as fit as possible and I also decided I wanted to help others do that very thing. So I got my CF-L1 in September 2022! The constant variety and the guarantee for hard work always keeps me coming back for more.
